Some EV chargers owned and maintained by City of Gold Coast are inoperable and have been removed from Chargefox.

While the City of Gold Coast completes an investigation into the situation and decides how they wish to proceed Chargefox has removed these sites from the app.

For further information and updates on these chargers please refer to the City of Gold Coast.

Chargefox is a software platform providing you with access to thousands of chargers owned by hundreds of organisations on a single app, avoiding the need to download lots of apps and manage multiple accounts.

Installation and maintenance of charging hardware is the responsibility of charger owners.

Since installing 10 EV chargers, City of Gold Coast have enabled thousands of residents and visitors to charge their vehicles, supporting the shift to cleaner and more cost-effective transport.

The existing chargers have been in operation for several years and have seen huge growth in utilisation due to the rapidly growing number of electric vehicles on the road. Recently the manufacturers of the chargers navigated a challenging period and have since been acquired by a new owner.

During this time, it’s been difficult to source spare parts for the chargers, which means some of the chargers owned by City of Gold Coast have now become inoperable and have been removed from the Chargefox platform.

The following sites have been removed from Chargefox and are no longer available.
  • 4556 - Nerang Road Broadbeach Road, Carrara
  • 4295 - Marine Parade, Southport
  • 4584 - Old Burleigh Road, Broadbeach
