Australia's first eLumina DS400 joins the Chargefox network, delivering up to 250kW charging in Perth's southern corridor.

Chargefox is pleased to announce the addition of a new 250kW charging site in Cockburn, Western Australia. The site is located directly opposite the Fremantle Football Club headquarters and is now available on the Chargefox network.

What makes the site particularly innovative is its integrated 350kW battery energy storage system, which enables fast charging while drawing as little as 70kW from the grid and utilising rooftop solar generation.

"We simply cannot complete the electrification of Australia's roads on our own. It requires collaboration with organisations such as Chargefox that value our expertise and share the vision of an advanced, electrified road network. We deeply value this relationship and continue to work together to bring value to site owners, access to vehicle owners and an advanced, electrified road network to all Australians.” Lisa Marsh, CEO of eLumina.

The installation marks a significant milestone as Australia's first customer-owned DS400 charger commissioned for public use and highlights how battery-backed charging can help expand EV infrastructure without placing additional strain on the electricity network.

Phil Soars, Head of EV Partnerships at Chargefox, said projects like this play an important role in expanding access to innovative charging technology for Australian drivers.

“Chargefox's strength is bringing together Australia's leading charging infrastructure into one easy-to-use network. We're proud to work with eLumina and Mine Maintenance Management to bring the new DS400 to drivers, giving them seamless access to innovative ultra-fast charging technology through a trusted national platform.”

The new charger is available on to all Chargefox users, further strengthening access to reliable ultra-fast charging across Western Australia.
