At Chargefox, we’re committed to making charging simple, affordable and fast for electric vehicle drivers across Australia. Over the past six years we’ve worked to create the backbone of the largest EV charging network in the nation. But to continue to deliver the best service, we need to factor in recent rises in energy prices. That’s why we’re raising the price of charging at some of our 50kW fast-charging stations.

From the 15th of March 2023, prices will increase from 40c per kWh to 45c per kWh. The 5c per kW increase will only apply to 20 of our fast-charging (50kW) stations in NSW and Victoria. Prices at our ultra-rapid (350kW) charging stations will remain unchanged at 60c per kWh.

Other EV charging services in Australia have increased prices right across their networks in response to higher energy costs. In contrast, prices at the hundreds of ultra-rapid charging stations owned and operated by Chargefox remain unaffected. Our 350kW ultra-rapid charging stations, which are capable of adding up to 400km of range in less than 15 minutes, will continue to offer the lowest ultra-rapid rate in Australia at 60c per kWh. And they are powered by 100 per cent renewable energy – a goal of ours for all chargers on our network. It’s all part of our vision for a nation where 100% of road transport is powered by renewable energy.

Using our free app, you can see the cost of charging at a station when you view each location’s details from the map.

The locations are:

NSW
Ballina, Karuah, Gundagai, Goulburn, Cooma, Zetland and Sydney

Victoria
Euroa, Barnawartha, Airport West, Torquay, Moe, Horsham and Ballarat

Since late 2017, we’ve grown our network to connect Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns, with additional stations in Western Australia, South Australia, NSW and Tasmania. We’ve managed more than 930,000 charging sessions on more than 3200 public and private plugs, dispensing a total of over 11 GWh of electricity for drivers.

As Australia’s largest and fastest growing EV charging network, we’re helping to alleviate range anxiety for EV drivers. Using the free Chargefox app, users can easily find, use and pay for charging across hundreds of stations in Australia and New Zealand.

We’ve also been working on making the cost of owning an EV as affordable as possible. That’s why we’ve partnered with most major EV manufacturers to offer free and/or discounted charging to owners of select Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Porsche and Volvo models.

In addition, Australian Motoring Club members (NRMA, RACV, RACQ, RAA, RAC, RACT and AANT) are eligible to receive discounted charging across our entire ultra-rapid network.

We thank you for your continued support as we work to grow Australia’s biggest and best charging network.
