Audi Australia has just announced the impending arrival of their first-ever all-electric vehicles, the Audi e-Tron and e-Tron Sportback.

We love celebrating the arrival of new EV models in Australia, and so we’ve partnered with Audi to offer a 6-year Chargefox subscription to owners of the e-Tron models. Audi e-Tron drivers will receive 6 year’s free, unlimited charging across our ultra-rapid network and participating fast and standard charging stations across Australia.

Audi is a founding partner of the Chargefox network, and we’re excited to be working together to help reduce barriers to EV uptake in Australia.

Marty Andrews, Chargefox CEO, said this announcement marks a milestone for EV owners in Australia.

“Our goal has always been to reduce road transport emissions by creating the infrastructure required to help Australia move towards a greener future with more EVs on the road. Australians now have more choice when it comes to purchasing an EV, knowing that the majority of EV manufacturers offer free or discounted charging across Australia’s largest charging network.’

Using the Chargefox network is easy for e-Tron owners. After registering their vehicle details in the Chargefox app, e-Tron owners will have visibility of all of the free charging available to them when using the Chargefox network.

This partnership means Chargefox now provides discounted or free charging sessions to drivers of selected Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover,  Porsche and Audi models. These partnerships make purchasing and owning an EV in Australia more affordable.

Editor’s Notes

Chargefox is the biggest and fastest-growing open charging network in Australia for modern EVs. It has been operating charging stations across Australia and New Zealand for 2 years and has managed more than 105,000 charging sessions for drivers via it’s iPhone and Android mobile apps.

The ultra-rapid charging network is an investment by the Australian Motoring Services (RACV, NRMA, RACQ, RAC, RAA and RACT), Wilson Transformers and the founder of Carsales, Greg Roebuck. It is supported with grants from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and the Victorian Government.

Chargefox’s multiple partnerships with car manufacturers mean that Australians can confidently purchase an EV backed by the Chargefox network.

The freely-available Chargefox app also helps users easily find, use and pay for charging across hundreds of stations in Australia and New Zealand.

Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) – Chargefox received funding from ARENA as part of ARENA’s Advancing Renewables Program. The views expressed herein are not necessarily the views of the Australian Government, and the Australian Government does not accept responsibility for any information or advice contained herein.

Technical Details

Audi e-Tron drivers will have access to a six-year subscription offering them free, unlimited charging across all Chargefox owned ultra-rapid charging stations (up to 350kW) and participating Chargefox-managed fast charging stations (mostly 50kW). Access to this subscription is available via download of the Chargefox app.
