The first phase of Australia’s largest ultra-rapid charging network is complete

In October 2018, we kicked off a pretty ambitious project – to deliver the world’s best EV charging technology via Australia’s very first network of ultra-rapid chargers. Our goal was to lay the foundation for increased EV ownership, building the infrastructure needed to make local and interstate travel possible. Today, we’re proud to announce that the Chargefox network now connects Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns, with additional stations in Western Australia and Tasmania, for Aussie EV drivers.

The goal of this phase of the build was to create the backbone of the largest EV charging network in the country, and with the addition of our latest ultra-rapid site in Coffs Harbour NSW, we’ve achieved exactly that.

Since our first station opened in Euroa, VIC over 2 years ago,
we've hit some incredible milestones:

But wait there's more...

Whilst building the network helps alleviate range anxiety for EV drivers, we’ve also been working on making the cost of owning an EV as affordable as possible. That’s why we’ve partnered with nearly all major EV manufacturers to offer free and/or discounted charging to owners of select Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Porsche and Volvo models.

In line with these goals, we’re excited to announce that Australian Motoring Club members (NRMA, RACV, RACQ, RAA, RAC, RACT and AANT) are now eligible to receive discounted charging across our entire ultra-rapid network.

Club members will save 20% when charging at any Chargefox ultra-rapid station across the country, or 50% where a Club member also owns one of the EV models mentioned above.

Simply add your VIN and Membership Number to your profile within the Chargefox app to access any eligible discounts.

Please note, only valid VIN and club membership numbers will be able to access discounts. You can update your Membership Number within the My Profile area of the app at any time.

We started Chargefox to create a cleaner Australia for our kids, and we’ve relied on that motivation to get us through the complexities of building this country’s first-ever ultra-rapid charging network.

The team has worked incredibly hard to bring our vision to life, and we look forward to expanding the network soon. Throughout the network build, we’ve listened to our customers – the EV community of Australia – and it’s remarkable to hear the volume of these conversations amplify as the country navigates climate policy. Chargefox will continue to do all it can to promote zero-emissions transport and support more Aussies on their path to EV ownership.
